Hi! I'm thig.

Agent settings: prompt, rules, knowledge and process

Customise any Thig agent with its system prompt, hard rules, knowledge base and standard process, and preview exactly what the agent receives.

Every agent has master data you can edit: a system prompt, hard rules, a knowledge base and a standard process. Use agent settings when one agent needs to behave differently, or when you want every agent to know something new.

Open agent settings

  1. Open an agent page.
  2. Click the gear icon labelled Agent settings.
  3. A drawer opens with tabs: Prompt, Rules, Knowledge, Process and Preview.

You can also open it from Settings, Agents, Prompt, rules & knowledge.

Each agent shows Enabled or Disabled, and Default or Customised so you can see what you changed.

Prompt

The System prompt describes the agent's role and goals. Edit it to change focus, for example "Prioritise comparison articles over how-to guides."

Rules

Rules are hard rules the agent must never break, in priority order.

  1. Add a rule, such as "Never mention pricing in Reddit replies."
  2. Use Move up and Move down to set priority.
  3. Use Remove to delete a rule.

Keep rules short and testable. "Be friendly" is vague. "Never use exclamation marks" is clear.

Knowledge

Knowledge is reference material the agent reads. Each entry has a Kind, a Title and content.

KindExample
Brand voice, Style guideYour house style
SEO guidelinesWord counts, keyword placement
Internal linksPages to link and the anchor text to use
Target keywordsYour keyword clusters

To add knowledge:

  1. Paste text, such as guidelines, keyword lists, internal links or examples.
  2. Or import from a URL. Public https pages only. The page is converted to text (max 200 KB).
  3. Choose All agents to share it with every agent, or keep it on this agent only.

Process

The Standard process is the list of steps the agent follows, each with a Step title and a description of What the agent does in this step. Defaults include reading the strategy documents, loading the brand voice, applying the knowledge base, checking real search data, avoiding repetition and a self-check before output. Add, reorder or remove steps.

Preview

Preview shows What the agent receives: the composed prompt with your edits. If you have unsaved changes, the preview shows the saved version until you save.
