How do I connect WordPress to thig?
- A self-hosted WordPress site with the REST API available at /wp-json (the default)
- A WordPress user who can create posts
- An application password for that user
Create an application password
In WordPress, open Users, then Profile, and scroll to Application Passwords. Name it thig and copy the password.
Open Integrations in thig
In your workspace, go to Account, then Integrations, and choose WordPress (Self-Hosted).
Paste three values
Enter your site URL, the WordPress username and the application password, then save. thig checks the credentials right away.
Publish from the Writer
Open an approved article and pick WordPress as the destination. It arrives as a draft post.
What can thig access?
Connections are used only after you approve a draft, and you can disconnect any time from your workspace settings.

Can AI publish directly to WordPress?
Yes, through the REST API. thig creates the post for you after you approve the article, and it saves as a draft by default so a person still presses Publish.
What is a WordPress application password?
It is a separate password WordPress generates for one app. It only works for API access, it never logs in to the dashboard, and you can revoke it without changing your main password.
Does thig work with WordPress.com?
Not yet. WordPress.com sign-in is coming soon. Self-hosted WordPress, including most managed WordPress hosts, works today.
Will thig change my WordPress theme or plugins?
No. The connection only creates and updates posts. Themes, plugins and settings stay untouched.
Does it work with Yoast or Rank Math?
thig writes the title, slug and meta description into the post. How your SEO plugin displays them depends on its settings, so check one draft after connecting.
